How to play

The daily grid

Every day there is one new 3×3 grid, the same for everyone. Each row and each column is a clue: an actor, a director, a genre, a decade or a country.

Tap a square and name a movie that matches both its row and its column. You have 9 guesses for 9 squares, and a wrong guess still uses one.

A movie can be used once per grid. Any movie in the catalog that fits both clues counts, not only the famous one.

Two example squares

Row "Stars Tom Hanks" × column "1990s": Forrest Gump (1994) fits, Cast Away (2000) does not.

Row "Directed by Greta Gerwig" × column "Comedy": Lady Bird (2017) fits both clues.

Rarity

Once you finish, every answer gets a stamp: the share of other players who picked the same movie for that square.

Your rarity score adds those percentages up, and an empty square counts 100. Lower is rarer, and rarer is better.

Streaks and sharing

Finish the grid on consecutive days to grow your streak. Share your result with a spoiler-free card: friends see your score, and your board only after they finish.

Past grids

Missed a day? Grids from two days ago and older can be played from Past grids. Those plays stay on your device and never change that day's results or your streak.

Playing against people

You can also play the grid as tic-tac-toe: against a friend with a link, against the bot, on one screen, or ranked after signing in.
